June – A Month of Growth, Fellowship, and Community
As we step into the month of July, we have a wonderful opportunity to look back and
reflect on the many blessings, experiences, and moments of fellowship that the Lord
gave us throughout June.
It was a month filled with spiritual growth, community outreach, meaningful
fellowship, and opportunities to deepen our faith together as a Church Family. We
are grateful for all that God is doing in and through Belfountain Village Church!
Worship Services
On June 13, we were blessed to welcome Pastor David Umune and his lovely wife;
Hope. It was wonderful to hear about their ministry in Nigeria and to learn more
about how the Lord is working and moving in that part of the world.
Pastor David brought us a powerful message from Hebrews 12:1–2:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw
off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with
perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and
perfecter of faith.”
Throughout his message, Pastor David challenged each of us to consider an
important question: How should we live—and why?
One phrase he returned to again and again was:
“Run with endurance the race that is set before us.”
What a powerful reminder for each of us.
The Christian life is often compared to a race—not a quick sprint, but a lifelong
journey that requires faith, endurance, perseverance, and dependence upon the
Lord. God has set a race before each one of us. He has given each of us a unique
path to walk, opportunities to serve, and a calling to faithfully follow Him.
There will be difficult days. There will be unexpected obstacles. There will be
moments when we feel tired, discouraged, or overwhelmed. Yet Scripture calls us to
keep running.
We do not need to run someone else’s race or compare our journey with theirs. We
are called to remain faithful in the race God has placed before us—to stay in our
lane, trust His leading, and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
So let us keep running. Let us keep trusting. Let us keep serving. And above all, let
us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, “the author and finisher of our faith.”
Serving Our Community
June 28 was certainly one of the highlights of the year so far as we gathered for our
Annual Belfountain Village Church Community Picnic!
During the morning service, Pastor Fred set the tone for the day with a wonderful
message from Matthew 5:14:
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
What a fitting reminder as we prepared to welcome our community!
Following the service, the festivities were soon underway. There was a shuttle
service, a delicious BBQ lunch, games and activities, a bouncy castle for the
children, ice cream, snacks, desserts, and much more!
It was an incredible day of fellowship and fun as families, friends, neighbours, and
members of our community came together. Meaningful conversations were shared,
new connections were made, and laughter and joy filled the air under the beautiful
summer sun.
Days like these remind us that the Church is not simply a building—it is a family of
believers called to love God, love one another, and shine the light of Christ in our
community.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who gave their time and
worked so faithfully throughout the day. Your willingness to serve helped make the
picnic a special and memorable occasion for everyone who attended.
We are truly grateful for each one of you!
BVC Youth
Our youth enjoyed a wonderful day together filled with outdoor games, burgers,
fellowship, and Bible study.
Following the Bible study, the group walked down to the river for a meaningful
activity. Each young person chose a rock and wrote a personal “burden” on it. They
then prayed together before throwing the rocks into the Credit River as a symbolic
reminder of what it means to give your burdens to the Lord.
As we reflected at the end of the activity:
“The Lord is with us in EVERYTHING. He wants to be part of every area of our
lives—and today, we gave Him our burdens.”
What a beautiful truth for all of us to remember.
May God continue to bless, guide, and protect our youth. Please keep them in your
prayers as they navigate their way through an increasingly busy and complex world.
Pray that they would grow strong in their faith, remain rooted in the Truth of God’s
Word, and always know that they are deeply loved and supported by their Church
family.
A Word of Encouragement for July
As we move forward into July, perhaps this is a good opportunity for each of us to
set some simple spiritual goals:
● Commit to daily prayer.
● Spend time each day in God’s Word.
● Have meaningful conversations about faith.
● Look for opportunities to serve others.
Thank you to everyone who participated, served, prayed, encouraged, and
supported the ministry of Belfountain Village Church throughout the month of June.
Your faithfulness and willingness to serve are deeply appreciated.
May each of us take time to reflect on our own walk with the Lord.
Let us consider how we can use the gifts, talents, abilities, time, and resources that
God has graciously given us—to serve Him, and serve others.
