August – Trusting in God’s Promises.
As we transition into September, it is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the blessings and
experiences that shaped our Church community throughout August.
It sure felt like the “Month of David,” and what an incredible journey it was — spending five
weeks exploring the complexities, trials, and triumphs of David, culminating in a profound
understanding of God’s unwavering promises!

“Promises Made – Promises Kept”
In the final sermon of this series, Pastor Fred emphasized the remarkable covenant made by
God in 2 Samuel 7:12-13:
“When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you,
who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My
name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.”
This Scripture not only highlights God’s commitment to David but also serves as a powerful
reminder of His faithfulness throughout history. Throughout the Bible, we see God making
covenants with significant figures like Noah, Abraham and Moses. These commitments were
never merely words; they were foundational truths that shaped the course of human history.
The promise given to David is a vital part of this divine narrative, showcasing that when God
speaks, He acts. Because God’s promises are timeless, this covenant reaffirms that His
faithfulness is beautifully interwoven through generations, spanning far beyond our own
understanding of time.
BVC Youth Outing
Carrying that spirit of fellowship out into the community, our BVC Youth had an unforgettable
time during our outing on August 15th! They kicked off the day by exploring God’s beautiful
creation with a scenic walk and hike through the Belfountain Conservation Area. It was a
gorgeous day filled with meaningful conversations, as they immersed themselves in the
natural beauty of our local area.
Afterwards, they headed back to the Jacobs’ house for an action-packed afternoon of
basketball, volleyball, and a “handprint paint game” that left a few of them going home a little
dirtier — and definitely a lot more colorful!
They wrapped up this wonderful day of bonding with a delicious barbecue and a powerful
Bible Study focused on Hebrews 12:1–2. They were reminded that we don’t need to
compare our journey or our race with anyone else’s; God has given each of us a unique
path, and we just need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
We are so thankful for the laughter, the lessons, and the beautiful day the Lord blessed them
with!

A Word of Encouragement for September
As we turn the page from an amazing summer of fellowship, sunshine, and outdoor
adventures, September brings a season of transition for so many in our Church family. This
month, our kids, youth, and young adults are heading back to school, stepping into new
classrooms, facing new routines, and encountering new challenges. Transitions can
naturally bring a mix of excitement and anxiety, not just for the students, but for the parents
and families navigating the busy schedules right alongside them.
In the midst of this shift, let’s carry that beautiful reminder from our August youth hike
straight into the new school year: you do not need to compare your journey or your pace to
anyone else’s. God has placed a unique race before each student, teacher, and family.
As the hallways get busy and life speeds up, let’s encourage our children — and one
another — to keep our spiritual eyes fixed firmly on Jesus, trusting His direction every step of
the way. May the Lord grant our students and families wisdom, protection, and a peaceful
spirit as they become lights for Him in their schools this month!
